Are you a Mechanical Fitter who enjoys working on heavy plant rather than standing at the same production machine every day?

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy aggregates operation in the Avonmouth / Bristol area.


This is a hands-on engineering role maintaining and repairing the mechanical equipment that keeps a heavy industrial site running.


The Role

Working as part of the engineering and maintenance team, you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to mechanical breakdowns
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and identifying long-term solutions
  • Maintaining conveyors, screens, crushers and processing equipment
  • Working on pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and drive systems
  • Completing welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs
  • Supporting plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities
  • Inspecting equipment and identifying potential failures
  • Recording completed maintenance activities
  • Working safely within a heavy industrial environment


What We Are Looking For

We want to speak with Mechanical Fitters, Maintenance Engineers and Plant Fitters with experience in environments such as:

  • Quarrying and aggregates
  • Asphalt
  • Cement
  • Concrete
  • Recycling
  • Waste
  • Heavy manufacturing
  • Ports
  • Bulk materials handling

You will need strong mechanical fault-finding skills and be comfortable working around large-scale plant and processing equipment.
