Take Ownership of Compliance, Fleet Standards and Operational Safety

Andrews Recruitment Group is recruiting a Compliance & Transport Lead for an established concrete production, delivery and pumping business based in Warwickshire.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands the practical realities of operating commercial vehicles in a busy industrial environment and can ensure the business remains compliant, organised and operating to high standards.

The company operates ready-mixed concrete vehicles, volumetric trucks and specialist concrete pumping equipment across its operations.

Working closely with the General Manager, you'll take responsibility for transport compliance, fleet administration, driver standards and the coordination of wider health, safety and quality requirements.

This is not simply an administrative position. We need someone who is comfortable working with drivers, workshop providers, site teams and management to ensure that compliance is maintained in practice, not just on paper.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day compliance across a mixed commercial vehicle fleet and the business.
  • Maintaining accurate vehicle maintenance, inspection, servicing and defect records.
  • Monitoring driver compliance, including licence checks, tachograph requirements, drivers' hours and working time regulations.
  • Ensuring vehicle defects are reported, recorded and rectified appropriately.
  • Coordinating planned maintenance, MOTs, inspections and associated fleet requirements.
  • Supporting compliance with operator licence obligations and relevant DVSA requirements.
  • Working with drivers and operational colleagues to maintain safe and consistent working practices.
  • Monitoring and improving transport-related procedures, documentation and record keeping.
  • Supporting health and safety systems, including risk assessments, incident reporting and corrective actions.
  • Assisting with site inspections, internal audits and compliance reviews.
  • Supporting quality management processes and relevant industry certification requirements.
  • Identifying compliance risks and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Working with the Operations Supervisor to balance operational requirements with legal and safety obligations.
  • Providing clear updates and reports to the General Manager.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in candidates who have practical experience of transport compliance within an operational, industrial or fleet-based environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience in transport compliance, fleet management or commercial vehicle operations.
  • Good understanding of operator licensing and commercial vehicle regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance systems, defect reporting and inspection procedures.
  • Familiarity with tachograph compliance, drivers' hours and working time regulations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence dealing with drivers, external maintenance providers and operational management.
  • The ability to identify problems, implement improvements and maintain accurate records.
  • A practical approach to health, safety and compliance.
  • The confidence to challenge unsafe or non-compliant working practices.

Advantageous Experience

  • Transport Manager CPC qualification.
  • Experience in concrete, aggregates, construction materials or heavy industry.
  • Experience working with ready-mixed concrete trucks, tippers or specialist commercial vehicles.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or relevant health and safety training.
  • Experience with BSI or comparable quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting external audits, operator licence reviews or regulatory inspections.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Established business with a varied commercial vehicle fleet.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of a critical operational function.
  • Direct working relationship with the General Manager.
  • A practical role combining office-based compliance and operational engagement.
  • Opportunity to improve systems, standards and working practices.
  • Long-term position within a business developing its management structure.
  • Scope to make a genuine difference to operational safety, efficiency and reliability.
