We are recruiting for an experienced Plant Manager to lead a critical area of a major cement manufacturing operation.

This is a senior operational role with responsibility for the safe, efficient and reliable running of cement grinding, storage, packing and dispatch operations, alongside leadership of operational teams, maintenance coordination, cost control and continuous improvement.

The successful Plant Manager will come from a strong cement manufacturing background and will have experience leading people and plant performance within a heavy industrial environment.

The Role

As Plant Manager, you will:

• Lead daily grinding, storage, packing and dispatch operations
• Manage and develop supervisors and operational teams
• Drive plant performance, reliability and operational efficiency
• Ensure customer demand is met through effective production planning
• Coordinate maintenance activity, shutdowns and plant improvement work
• Manage operational budgets, costs and expenditure
• Work closely with maintenance, quality, logistics, supply chain and commercial teams
• Ensure materials and packaging supplies support uninterrupted production
• Lead continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
• Manage contractors, suppliers and cross-functional projects
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance
• Support site improvement projects and new product introductions

What We’re Looking For

The successful Plant Manager will have:

• Significant experience within a cement manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing processes
• Experience leading operational teams within heavy industry or manufacturing
• Proven experience managing contractors and cross-functional activity
• Experience delivering operational and business performance targets
• Strong health and safety knowledge
• Good commercial awareness and budget management experience
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Good stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and reporting ability
• Microsoft Office capability
• SAP experience would be advantageous
