Mobile Mechanical Fitter
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + Overtime + Company Van + Pension + Holiday
Location: Covering sites across Bristol, Gloucestershire & Dorset
Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a varied mobile role supporting heavy industrial plant across multiple production sites?
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading materials manufacturer for a Mobile Mechanical Fitter to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdowns and mechanical repairs across several operational sites in the South West.

The Role
Working as part of the engineering team, you will travel between sites carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure plant reliability and minimise downtime.
Typical duties will include:
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive breakdown diagnosis and repairs
- Mechanical fault finding
- Replacing bearings, gearboxes, motors and drive systems
- Maintenance of conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers and associated process plant
- Welding and fabrication repairs where required
- Plant inspections and condition monitoring
- Supporting shutdowns and continuous improvement activities
- Working safely in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures
What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with experienced Mechanical Fitters or Mechanical Maintenance Engineers from heavy industrial environments, including:
- Quarrying & Aggregates
- Recycling & Waste Processing
- Asphalt & Concrete
- Cement
- Steel & Metals
- Industrial Manufacturing
- Production & Processing Plants
- Power Generation
- Water & Utilities
- Mining or other heavy engineering environments
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Mechanical maintenance and fault finding
- Bearings, gearboxes and conveyors
- Pumps, motors and drive systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Welding and fabrication (advantageous)
- Working independently across multiple sites
- Full UK Driving Licence
