Industrial Process Plant | Commissioning | Fault Finding | Installation
If you're an Industrial Electrical Engineer who enjoys working on large-scale process plant, solving complex faults and seeing projects through from installation to commissioning, this is a role where you'll genuinely make an impact.
We're looking for an experienced engineer to join a growing team delivering electrical projects across the concrete, asphalt, aggregates and industrial processing sectors. You'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from electrical installation and panel build support through to commissioning, fault finding and ongoing maintenance of industrial production plants.
This is a hands-on engineering role where no two days are the same. You'll split your time between the workshop, customer sites and project installations, working closely with both electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver reliable industrial process systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installing electrical systems on industrial process plants.
- Supporting control panel builds and industrial electrical installations.
- Commissioning new plant and production equipment.
- Carrying out electrical testing and inspection before customer handover.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults on production machinery.
- Fault finding across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Working with PLC-controlled equipment to identify and resolve operational faults.
- Maintaining motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, valves and other industrial plant equipment.
- Supporting electrical upgrades, modifications and plant improvements.
- Liaising with customers and mechanical engineers during installation and commissioning projects.
- Producing clear testing documentation and commissioning records.
- Helping customers minimise downtime through effective maintenance and fault diagnosis.
You'll be trusted to manage projects from installation through to commissioning, giving you real ownership and the opportunity to see your work operating on live production sites.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working within industrial electrical engineering.
- Background in manufacturing, aggregates, quarrying, asphalt, concrete, recycling, process plant or heavy industry.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience commissioning industrial machinery or production equipment.
- Confident working with motors, drives, pumps, conveyors and industrial control equipment.
- Experience diagnosing faults on PLC-controlled systems (PLC programming not required).
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Comfortable working both on customer sites and in the workshop.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience
- ECS Gold Card or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Panel wiring or control panel assembly.
- Experience working alongside mechanical engineers.
- Knowledge of industrial automation or process plant.
Why Join?
- Work on varied industrial projects from installation through to commissioning.
- Join a growing engineering business with a strong pipeline of work.
- Be involved with interesting process plant rather than repetitive maintenance.
- Work with experienced engineers on technically challenging projects.
- Excellent long-term opportunities for progression and development.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine installation, commissioning, fault finding and industrial electrical engineering while working on major process plant projects, we'd love to hear from you.
