Industrial Electrician

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing the electrical maintenance section, taking ownership of performance and quality, achieving and maximising the efficiency of the process, and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed and mobile plant.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the condition of all plant equipment continuously.

• Lead and own the 5-year improvement plan for the asset.

• Use CMMS to ensure the planned inspection of all plant equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection results, including safety checks. Perform first analysis and define priorities in case of anomalies.

• Monitor and coordinate condition predictors for all critical equipment.

• Follow-up and contribute to updating the preventive maintenance schedule with the maintenance team.

• Validate and update the criteria of equipment checks, files, and history sheets.

• Evaluate and improve preventive maintenance job plans (from supplier recommendations if existing) and create/update the corresponding inspection job plans with the planner.

• Maximise the use of equipment downtime to perform inspection activities by leading and guiding shift maintenance teams.

• Contribute to the analysis of failures and problems, implementing corrective actions.

• Lead root cause analysis for all plant failures as needed.

• Propose cost-effective methods to extend the life of plant equipment or increase mean time between failures.

• Manage safety inspection activities and request corrective actions for safety issues.

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards.

• Contribute to the continuing development of condition-based monitoring initiatives and systems at the plant.

• Manage and analyse data from both online and offline condition-based monitoring systems.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Knowledge:

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.

• 18th Edition certification.

Preferred Knowledge:

• Degree qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (not essential).

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment, including Siemens S5, S7, Allen Bradley, and Profinet systems.

• Technical understanding of preventive, predictive, and systematic maintenance (e.g., databases, CMMS, project software).

• IT literacy, including Maximo and Microsoft Project.

• Project management capabilities.
