Plant Operative

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our team. This role is fast-paced, dynamic, extremely varied and challenging, however also very rewarding for someone who genuinely cares about customers and enjoys working with other like minded, hard working people. To perform a wide range of duties at our asphalt plant site to ensure that this key strategic location maintains its high profile of both a safe working and productive environment. The role is multi disciplined, and you will be required to learn all aspects of the site from weighbridge duties, through to the safe operation of mobile plant and asphalt production.

About the role

The most important thing for us is that you can work safely and look out for yourself and your colleagues. Other elements of the role include:

• Weighing vehicles in and out of our weighbridge and producing relevant documentation with correct order numbers in place

• Operating the Ammann RAH50 semi-continuous asphalt plant

• General housekeeping duties

• Inducting, allocating and loading of both asphalt and drystone vehicles

• Carry out pre-start checks on fixed and mobile plant and ensure that it is safe to operate

• To carry out routine maintenance including greasing / visual inspections as per the schedule

• Operating the Loading shovel and other smaller mobile plant

What will you bring?

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Strong IT literacy

• Flexibility with work hours and willing to work weekend

• The desire for training and willingness to learn

• Experience in similar industries is desirable.

• You will need to develop a sound appreciation of Health & Safety, housekeeping and environmental regulations
